THINK Carer

Employers! Support unpaid carers in your staff teams

The 2021 Census found that 2.8 million people are juggling work and care across the UK, while Carers UK found that, on average, 600 people per DAY quit work because of a lack of support to juggle work and care.

As many as 1 in 8 people in the UK may be an unpaid carer supporting loved ones, friends and neighbours with long term health conditions outside of work. THINK about this statistic, and the likelihood of a colleague, or an employee in your workplace being an unpaid carer.

Sign up to our THINK Carer campaign for:

  • our FREE 'THINK CARER' information pack that can be shared to your business' management and/or HR team

  • our FREE Carer Awareness Training

  • support for the unpaid carers in your staff teams by organising referrals to our service for things such as Carers Assessments on behalf of Lancashire County Council, wellbeing support and peer support groups, discount schemes, and benefits advice.

We want to work with local businesses and organisations so that unpaid carers across Hyndburn and East Lancashire are aware of the help they are entitled to, and so that workplaces can continue to employ and support unpaid carers in their teams!
