Our Support Groups

LGBTQ+ Carers Support Group

Last Thursday of every month from 10:30am-12:30pm

STARTING 30TH OCTOBER 2025

The Whitaker Museum (cabin at the back), Haslingden Rd, Rawtenstall, BB4 6RE

We are launching a NEW LGBTQ+ Carers Peer Support Group, with Spectrum Inclusion!
At Carers Link Lancashire, we are proud to support LGBTQ+ carers.

Carers UK estimate that there are 240,000 LGBTQ+ carers in the UK. Carers Trust found that 88% of LGBTQ+ carers experience mental health problems, and 31% feel that they are treated differently because of their sexual identity .

Being LGBTQ+ and a carer can bring additional challenges that others may not understand. This may include increased social isolation and fear of accessing support.

Spectrum Inclusion is an LGBTQIA+ organisation dedicated to connecting communities and creating safe spaces for all to find acceptance for who they are, who believe everyone should have the freedom to explore and express their gender identity and sexuality with pride and without judgement, no matter what stage of life you’re at.

Join us at this monthly drop in to discuss your caring role, and meet other LGBTQIA+ carers.

Former Carer Support Group

3rd Wednesday of every month / 11am - 1pm
Carers Link Lancashire, 54 -56 Blackburn Road, Accrington, BB5 1LE
If the weather is nice we can enjoy our lunch in the beautiful community garden.

A former carer is someone whose caring role has changed primarily due to bereavement or who feels that their caring role has substantially reduced because the person they care for has entered full time residential care. We understand that you might need support when your caring role comes to an end. This group could be the stepping stone that helps you meet new friends and start a new chapter.“ Losing a loved one can leave you feeling adrift, but talking to others can help.”
