Leave a gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your will is an ideal way to leave a lasting gift for a cause you feel passionate about.

It is your choice how much you leave as a gift in a will and it does not mean that you have to make a choice between your loved ones and your favourite charity.

Leaving a gift in your will is easy, but it’s always a good idea to consult a professional, such as a solicitor or financial adviser, so you are sure that your will reflects your wishes accurately. They will need to know the amount, or percentage, you wish to leave as a gift and the charities name, address and registered charity number.

Here is some suggested wording for your will:

“I give [£xx or xx%] of my estate to Carers Link Lancashire, registered charity number in England and Wales (1156275) for its general charitable purposes.”

You can amend an existing Will with the Carers Trust Codicil form https://carers.org/sites/files/carerstrust/codicil_carerstrust.pdf.

Further information on leaving a gift in your Will can be found in the Carers Trust information booklet  https://carers.org/sites/files/carerstrust/codicil_carerstrust.pdf
