Carers Rights Day is about raising awareness of carers’
rights and entitlements, to help carers get the support they need.

Often carers put the health and happiness of their cared for, before their own, that is why this Carers Day we want to focus on the health and wellbeing of carers in the community. We hosted a FREE health check open day at our community facility centre in Accrington where carers came down and received a free blood pressure and heart rate check as well as up to date information and advice. 6 million people in the UK have high blood pressure and don’t know it. We also had several organisations in attendance, including the NHS 'Steady On' Falls Team, NHS Talking Therapies, Citizens Advice, and Spring into Action CIC. To help carers wellbeing on the day, we also offered free short massages from Tracey at School of Healing.
